This 1992 Schwidder design builds on the tradition of the Gospel writer St. Luke as a Physician (Colossians 4:14) and inscribes upon the reredos large cross with overarching wings the quote from Malachi 4:2 promising to the believers healing in God’s wings.  Schwidder incorporated wings in many of his carvings, but none more dominant than in this congregation of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church
